As the world's leading manufacturer of fine men's shoes, Allen-Edmonds is recognized for its uncompromising commitment to high quality. The quality of the company's workspace, however, had begun to fade. Furniture and fixtures were dated and worn. The management workstations were inhibiting natural light, ventilation flow and spontaneous communication with leadership.
Forrer introduced a new workspace design that turned many of the company's "ME" spaces into "WE" and "OUR" spaces, allowing people to interact more with one another and help foster a culture of idea sharing. In addition, Forrer installed Access flooring, making it possible for Allen-Edmonds to run cords and cables underneath the floor to more easily support a variety of today's workspace technologies, and access them from virtually anywhere. The Access flooring will also accommodate future IT upgrades, moves and changes.
