Steelcase Think Chair Featured on American Idol

This season on American Idol (FOX), the Steelcase Think chair, the chair with a brain and a conscience, has been chosen as the feature chair for the American Idol judges.

The Think chair is intelligent enough to understand how you sit, adjusts itself intuitively and is thoughtful enough to measure and minimize its lifelong impact on the environment. It’s a smart, simple and environmentally friendly seating option.

The Think chair uses only materials deemed as safe to the environment. It is composed of 99% recyclable content and is made of up to 41% recycled material.

Created by designer Glen Oliver Low, McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry and the Institute of Product Development in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Think chair conforms to the highest environmental standards and concentrates on the importance of ergonomic seating.

The Think chair's design aims to address the growing concern of back pain by incorporating new technologies that support changing postures throughout the day.

The Think chair incorporates three main elements targeted at improving user comfort and posture. Your Profile™, Your Power™ and Your Preference™ are technology-driven posture controls that provide the user with adjustments that work naturally with body movement. This enables users to change position in a manner that is healthier for the body.
