Need GBCI CEU credits to maintain your LEED credentials? Or more ASID / IIDA / AIA credits to keep up your membership?
We can help! We understand that busy lifestyles make it difficult to squeeze in CEU's on top of deadlines at work, family obligations, housework and fantasy football. So, we’re making it easy on you!
On October 19th + 20th, Forrer will be hosting three back-to-back CEU courses designed to help you maintain your accreditations without putting you to sleep. Read below for course descriptions.
Can’t make it on the 19th? No problem! Both days will feature the same courses, so you’ll have two chances to make it work.
Registration fee includes all 3 courses listed below, as well as morning refreshments and lunch!

It's amazing, the progress our society has made, even in the last 100 years. Moving from the industrial age to the information age. From horses to cars, handwritten letters to Morse code, to the Internet and Facebook. What we haven't fully realized is that the progress comes with a huge price tag. Some things that we take for granted as "good" arent - and some things we think have made our lives easier...haven't. When we come to a deeper understanding of a particular materials that is in a product or a particular process that is used to create a product, we begin to realize the impact of the changes we make each day. This course will explore how the material choices we make - as consumers, architects, designers, facilities managers and project managers - every day can have either a positive or a negative impact on human health and the health of the planet.
10:30 AM - UW-Madison School of Education Case Study presented by Michelle Scanley + Kevin Allebach of HGA Architects
GBCI 1 Unit (new course, submitted for approval October 2011)
A case study of the first LEED Platinum Certified project on the campus and within the UW System, focusing on LEED requirements, sustainability achievements and historic preservation.
Noon - Designing for Sustainability through Life Cycle Thinking, by Melissa Desota of Steelcase, Inc.
GBCI Approved 1 Unit
ASID / IIDA No. 8700, .1 Unit (in credit renewal process) | AIA No. SC110, 1 Unit (in credit renewal process)
Join us for a course that explores the five stages of lifecycle thinking. By measuring a product’s impact on the environment during all of its lifecycle phases – materials selection, production, transport, use and end-of-use – we’re able to target key areas to reduce our impact on the planet. Learn about the global environmental issues that help us measure and understand our impact, and learn about new tools available to help you assess the environmental health of the products you specify.
